Located in Gazcue, Distrito Nacional of Santo Domingo, and overlooking the Caribbean ocean, top local and international architects designed the six-level building to provide students and faculty with a facility engineered to optimize students’ learning experiences. Thanks to its state of the art structure, the building fosters active learning while promoting sustainability.

The O&Med building has two floors of cutting edge laboratories designed and equipped with the latest resources and technology to ensure the best possible learning and research experiences.

Global Health and Biotechnology Research Center

The Global Health and Biotechnology Research Center (GHBRC-O&MED) is the executive branch in charge of policy, research and development projects within the Medical School/Faculty of Health Sciences at the Universidad Dominicana O&M. The center has an Executive Board and a Research Ethics Committee with bioethicists and highly qualified team of specialists in health sciences research. The GHBRC-O&MED coordinates the sustainability of their projects and initiatives through strategic alliances with national and international institutions engaged in research and development.

The GHBRC-O&MED has developed several projects in clinical and epidemiological research contributing to scientific and technological development. The facilities are located at the headquarters of the Faculty of Health Sciences.

Knowledge Center

O&Med Knowledge Center is a dynamic and innovative educational environment that promotes active learning and scientific research. The Knowledge Center generates and transmits the values of the O&Med community by supporting and encouraging students and Faculty to teach, learn and research.

The Knowledge Center is located at the fifth floor of the building, and has two study rooms, one professor room, one conference room, a lecture room for 40 attendees, 10 computer stations with internet, an on-line catalog and online databases, digital resources, electronic journals and books. General collections, reserve collections, reference collections, special collections and periodicals are all part of the Knowledge Center, along with printed and electronic books, audiovisual material, journals, scientific publications, simulation programs, encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlas and textbooks, among others.

Food Service

A Cafeteria is located on the 5th floor of the building available Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 5 pm and Saturday from 8 am to 12 pm.
