Wady Aude

Y. Wady Aude, M.D. is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) School of Medicine, where he serves as the Cardiovascular Fellowship Program Director and as the Cardiology Subspecialty Education Coordinator for the Internal Medicine Program.

His previous leadership positions include Chairman of the Cardiology Department at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance (Edinburg, TX), Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Medical Center (Little Rock, AR), Director of the Coronary Care Units of the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital (Little Rock, AR), and Chief Cardiology Fellow at Mount Sinai Medical Center (Miami Beach, FL).

Dr. Aude has published multiple articles in different scientific journals and presented his research at local and national meetings throughout his career. He has also served as the institutional principal investigator for over 20 multi-center research trials, including six NIH-funded trials.

Dr. Aude was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic where he graduated from Universidad Nacional Pedro Enriquez Ureña (UNPHU) Medical School. After completing one year of social services in the Dominican Republic, he moved to the United States for medical training: Internal Medicine at Rhode Island Hospital / Brown University School of Medicine (Providence, RI), Critical Care Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital / Mount Sinai School of Medicine (New York, NY), Cardiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center (Miami Beach, FL), and Interventional Cardiology at The Miriam Hospital / Brown University School of Medicine (Providence, RI). He is currently board certified in Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Coronary CT Angiography, and Nuclear Cardiology.

Dr. Aude is currently enrolled in a Master of Public Health program at Harvard University, from which he is expected to graduate in May 2023.
