Robert Crone


M.D

Dr. Crone is an internationally recognized senior healthcare physician executive with more than 25 years of experience leading international ventures for U.S.-based hospitals, medical schools, and private industry with a focus on developing programs that support the globalization and improvement of healthcare education. Recently, he established Strategy Implemented that also works closely with the US "House of Medicine" who are responsible for assessment, accreditation, certification and licensure of physicians practicing in the US and who now are responding to requests to establish similar programs internationally.

Robert’s work focuses on helping academic health centers, medical schools, and universities to develop and implement international strategies and programs. The most recent include Weill Cornell Medical College-Qatar, Duke, Boston & Philadelphia Children's Hospitals, American University of Beirut, University of South Florida, University of the Virgin Islands, Arabian Gulf University and University of the West Indies. He believes strongly that there is an opportunity to create global standards for assessment and accreditation of individual providers and programs in health care. Clients have included AAMC, NBME, ACGME, ABMS, FSMB. Currently, Among other engagements, Dr. Crone served as Vice Dean and member of the Faculty of Medicine at Weill Cornell from 2014 to 2019.

Previously, Robert served as founding President, Dean & CEO of Harvard Medical International, Inc.

He has lectured and written extensively on issues related to the globalization of healthcare, including the establishment of U.S.-based academic centers abroad, the global workforce shortage, and medical travel. Over his extensive career, Dr. Crone has held professorial and administrative leadership positions at Harvard, the University of Washington and Cornell University Schools of Medicine.
